Shriya Saran was born on September 11, 1982 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand to Pushpendra Saran worked for BHEL and her Neeraja Saran Bhatnagar worked as a Chemistry teacher in Delhi Public School in Haridwar and Meerut. She has completed her early education from Haridwar and later done her Bachelor of Arts from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. Shriya filmy debut from film Ishtam in 2001 and she got her first commercial success with Santhosham a Telugu film in 2002. Later she would subsequently feature in several Telugu films, simultaneously working in Hindi cinema.
Saran featured in Blockbuster movie Sivaji – The Boss in 2007 opposite superstar Ranjnikant was the highest grossing Tamil film till date.
