10 Awesome Ways To Keep Children Entertained


With the plethora of technology available nowadays, keeping children from being bored seems like an impossible task. Unfortunately, tablets, phones or gaming consoles can get quite boring if played too much, so why not create some awesome games to do at home with the children. These are fairly inexpensive, are relatively easy to clean up, and will keep them entertained for hours. Read on to find out some awesome ways to keep the kids entertained without modern technology and let us know how they work out!

Washable Fun

Let your children doodle on some old shirts with some crayons. Kids love destroying things, and if they have your permission, that’s one less thing you don’t want destroyed staying safe.



Everyone loves the scenes in spy movies where the good guys have to climb over an invisible laser field. Why not create the same thing for your children, without the danger of lasers, and use some red string or yarn!

Race Track

Create an awesome race track for your children using some colored tape on the floor, and time them to see how fast they can complete the circuit!

Sugar Fun

Children love playing in sand pits, but if you have no sand, fill a box or plastic container with sugar at let them have fun creating things!


Bars of soap can be relatively cheap, so why not get some and show your kids what happens when you put them in the microwave!

Giant Bubbles

Let your children create massive bubbles using a meter of string, two utensils (wooden spoons, sticks, dowels, anything really), a weight such as a rock — tie these in a triangle shape, as seen in the picture above. Once you’ve created the bubble-maker, use 1 gallon (4 liters) of hot water, 1/4 cup (60 ml) of glycerin and 1 cup (250ml) of dish washing liquid.

Balloon Rocket

Create an awesome balloon rocket by taping a straw to the top of a balloon, passing some string through the straw and tying each end off to a chair, blow the balloon up (not tying it) and let it loose!

Child Friendly Darts

Accidents can happen with children anytime, so create a kid-safe game of darts with some sponges, water and chalk. Remember to tally their scores, as everyone loves being competitive!

Tarp Target

Create your own target game by stringing up a tarp between two trees, cutting some shapes into the tarp, with some being bigger than others, outlining them with tape and giving the holes a score. Then get a small ball and let your children try and score as much as they can in 5 throws!

Small Bowling

If you don’t have time to go out for actual bowling, make your own at home with a board, 10 pencil erasers and a marble!
