Mohamed Muizzu Appeals to China for Tourism Boost Amidst Indian Reservation Cancellations

In the wake of widespread reservation cancellations by Indian tourists following a diplomatic dispute over offensive remarks made by Maldivian ministers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu called on China to ramp up efforts in sending more tourists to the island nation.

During his official visit to China, Muizzu addressed the Maldives Business Forum in Fujian Province, emphasizing China’s status as the Maldives’ “closest” ally and a crucial development partner.

“China remains one of our closest allies and development partners,” he stated.
