SAG Awards 2024 Nominations

Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae unveil the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations, securing two nods for “Barbie” and “American Fiction.”

In the film categories, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” stand as formidable contenders with four nominations each, while HBO’s “Succession” takes the lead with five nominations for its concluding season.

Marking its 30th year, the SAG Awards play a pivotal role in the awards season, offering a key indicator of potential Academy Award victors. Notably, the multiverse comedy “Everything Everywhere All at Once” set a record at the 29th SAG Awards, claiming four wins and making A24 the first studio to dominate all major categories, including the best actor honor for Brendan Fraser in “The Whale.”

Since its establishment in 1995, only four films have clinched the Best Picture title at the Oscars without securing a nomination from SAG for cast ensemble: “Braveheart” (1995), “The Shape of Water” (2017), “Green Book” (2018), and “Nomadland” (2020).

In a significant development, the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony is set to stream live worldwide on Netflix for the first time this year, as part of their multi-year deal.
